Indigo embarked on her journey into yoga in 2007 and has since trained in many forms of Meditation and Yoga. Teaching since 2010, she is E-RYT 500-hour certified and lives a yogic lifestyle. Following the Ashtanga lineage, she studies under renowned instructors such as Kino McGregor, Tim Feldmann, and Sharath Jois.
Believing in the harmony between mind and body, Indigo has participated in multiple Vipassana meditations and has delved into various mindfulness practices. Indigo also provides cooking classes and STEM programs to Chicago Public Schools, teaching the youth kitchen skills. She is the founder and CEO of Yoga Gardens NFP, a local organization that teaches mindfulness, nutrition, life skills, and more to at-risk youth and adults on Chicago’s Westside. As a globe-trotting yogi, Indigo continues her dual journey as both a teacher and a student, striving to be the change she wishes to see in the world.
Since 2008, Indigo has wholeheartedly embraced veganism and a wellness-oriented lifestyle, and believes her culinary journey reflects this commitment. With creations that go beyond merely nourishing the body; they aim to foster a sense of community and connection.Working to make healthy eating both accessible and exciting, reinventing traditional recipes into vibrant, plant-based dishes that celebrate cultural heritage while promoting well-being.
Through workshops, retreats, cooking classes, yoga trainings and community events, Indigo impart the knowledge and skills necessary for adopting healthier habits, paying special attention to the unique challenges faced by underrepresented communities. Viewing food as a powerful vehicle for healing and empowerment, Indigo's mission is to leverage it to cultivate a healthier, happier future for all.
